You do not have to be camping at Henry's Landing to rent kayaks or canoes. Call today to book your trip!
How it Works:
You come to us. Park your vehicle at our private campground. We bus you 3 miles up to Custer Bridge where our friendly staff will assist you into the river. Leisurely float back down to Henry's Landing where your vehicle is parked. There's no bus to catch at the end so take your time getting back! No rentals after Labor Day, but we do spot vehicles year-round if you have your own gear.
The Pere Marquette River between Custer and Scottville has an average depth of 3-4 feet and is approximately 30-40 feet wide. It has a sandy bottom and a slow, gentle current making it a great river for families and beginners. However, if you have no experience at all, we recommend learning on a lake before you try kayaking on a river. You may encounter deep holes, log jams and downed limbs to maneuver around, but the river is kept open and clear for floaters and boaters. It is most easily navigated by kayak. Tubers have more difficulty steering through its curves and obstacles, which is why we no longer rent tubes. You do not need permits to travel our section of the river. Wildlife is abundant but expect other floaters on hot summer weekends. There are no rest areas between bridges.

Each rental includes free parking at our private campground, transportation, paddles, flotation device and friendly service. All equipment is cleaned after each use.
Our kayak fleet consists of Jackson Rivieras (tandem and single) and Old Town loons and otters. Our canoes are Michi-craft and Old Town. Our SUP boards are Jackson Super Naturals.
